Pupil University Program

During the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia, pupils who are interested in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or technology have the opportunity to get to know their desired subjects at the university for a week as part of the RWTH "Pupil University Program".

Various MINT disciplines offer workshops, lectures, experiments, institute tours, and much more to provide participating students with an insight into the respective study contents and current research.

The Institute of Communication Systems (IKS) also supported the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology this year by organizing a corresponding morning program at the institute. On 24.07.2024, 23 students participated in our program as part of the “Pupil University Program”. In addition to a trial lecture by Dr.-Ing. Christiane Antweiler on "Speech in Bits and Bytes", numerous experiments on speech signal processing were carried out on PCs. The highlight of the morning was the visit to the IKS|Lab, where participants virtually stood amidst the Aachen Symphony Orchestra.
