Friedrich-Wilhelm-Award
Mr. Maximilian Tillmann was awarded the Friedrich-Wilhelm Prize this year for his master’s thesis, which he completed at the Institute for Communication Systems.
In his thesis, titled "Investigations on Autoencoder Models for Online System Identification," he explored a method using nonlinear subspaces, known as manifolds, to reduce the number of parameters to be estimated during acoustic system identification.
The Friedrich-Wilhelm Prize is awarded annually by the foundation of the same name to young researchers selected for their excellent achievements in final theses. Established in 1865, besides promoting research and teaching, the foundation's goal is to support students and early-career researchers at RWTH.
