EUSIPCO 2021

Also this year, due to the current Corona situation, the European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO) was not held in Dublin (Ireland) as originally planned, but purely virtually.

From 23.08.2021 - 27.08.2021 the conference offered a platform for the exchange about current research, technology and trends in the field of signal processing. A wide variety of contributions on problems and solutions, including in the context of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, were presented and discussed in lecture and poster sessions.

The IKS was represented with a total of four contributions:

  • Tobias Kabzinski presented his paper "A Model-Based 2D Head-Tracking Method Using Microphones at the Ears", in which algorithms for position estimation for head tracking are presented, which are applied for example in dynamic playback of binaural signals.
  • Lars Thieling presented his paper "Generally Applicable Deep Speech Inpainting Using the Example of Bandwidth Extension" about the abstraction capacity of neural networks using the example of speech inpainting.
  • Florian Hilgemann presented the paper "Design of IIR Filters for Active Noise Control by Constrained Optimization", which addresses the design of ANC systems using nonlinear optimization.
  • Maximilian Kentgens shared insights on shifting acoustic scenes in his paper "On the Upscaling of Higher-Order Ambisonics Signals for Sound Field Translation"
