Block Seminar "Management im Ingenieurwesen"
In this summer semester, the block seminar "Management in Engineering" took place during the excursion week. Short lecture units were used to convey management concepts and methods, which were then tested in a business simulation game.
Fifteen participants applied models for mentality, motivation, and strengths in small groups, with the composition of the groups being regularly mixed. Each participant had the opportunity to give a presentation and receive individual feedback.
Mr. Schläper drew on years of experience in leadership positions, substantiating his statements with relevant examples. In the "open workshop," participants could receive qualified answers to questions in the areas of management and personal development.
The seminar prepares participants for future roles in projects and teams, with a particular focus on leadership tasks. The topics are a crucial part of an engineer's duties and cannot be learned in this form in any other course.
