Mobile clouds are representing a disruptive approach to changefuture communication systems. Current approaches dominated bypoint to point communication and centralized design are resourceintensive. Mobile clouds on the other side are able to dynamicallyassign and share resources based on current needs. Cooperationamong mobile devices is an underlying assumption and differentsocial and technology based approaches are discussed. One keytechnology for mobile clouds is network coding offering security, lowenergy and bandwidth consumption, and it can handle dynamictopology changes. The talk will introduce network coding for mobiledevices and discuss the challenges and underline the benefits of thattechnology.
